The Denver playground is the third of seven playgrounds built nationwide by the Mutual of Omaha Foundation and KaBOOM! in 2009, through a partnership that will eventually serve more than 52,000 children across the country. The build will also be one of more than 150 KaBOOM! playgrounds built in 2009 in an effort

to provide a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America.

“I used to play at this very playground as a child and at one point I lived on the other side of the alley,� exclaimed Councilman López.

The contributors and sponsors of the Westwood park rebuild are currently raising money to cover the cost of playground, with a fundraising goal of $3,750.
