Selecting the perfect pumpkin at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield has become a much-anticipated tradition for many families.
Thousands of pumpkins will be ripe for the picking in the 10-acre pumpkin patch at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield on Saturday, Oct. 9, and Sunday, Oct. 10, from 9am-5pm.
Many activities will surround the search for that perfect jack o’ lantern or pumpkin pie gourd, including free amusement rides, pony rides and entertainment stages. Kids will enjoy the Kids Corral, which will be filled with fun arts and crafts, cider press demonstrations, free face painting and educational activities. Visitors can also experience ghost tours of the 1860s historical homestead located on the Chatfield grounds, encounters with birds of prey provided by HawkQuest, antique tractor rides and much more.
A variety of vendors will be selling tasty treats at the Food Court, and the Artisans Market will feature representatives from a variety of family-friendly organizations.
The average cost of a pumpkin is $5 (price is determined by size). Admission for members and non-members: $6 Adult, Senior, Student with ID; $4 Child (ages 4-12); $5 Member Adult; $3 Member Child (ages 4-12); Children 3 and under admitted free. Children in costume admitted free (ages 4-12).
Also at Chatfield, guests can negotiate the twists and turns of the newly designed cornfield this fall at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield’s Corn Maze – one of the most attended corn mazes in the country. Each year the design of the 8-acre Maze changes, creating a new and better challenge. The Maze features numerous winding pathways created by 12-foot tall stalks of corn. Two 15-foot tall illuminated bridges overlook the giant Corn Maze, and a mini-maze will thrill younger children. The Haunted House is also a popular feature along with the Corn Maze and open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 31st .
