Straight From My Heart ~ My Halloween ghost


out loud, “Thats you Dave, we can tell by the way you walk.” The pirate just gave some heavy grunts in reply. At the end of the night, the pirate ended up being Joan Chávez and she received one of the prizes. People were real creative with their costumes. We had several gypsies and clowns. There were two people wearing white sheets with holes for eyes and holes for their arms. One was holding onto a cane, the other was dragging a chain. No one could guess who the two ghosts were until we did a process of elimination and decided they must be the García twins, Robert and James. We wouldnt know for sure until the end of the night when everyone had to unmask.
We had a good crowd and people were dancing and having a good time. About half-way through the party, a person dressed like a bag lady entered the room and a buzz started across the room as people tried to guess who she was. The bag lady had layers and layers of clothes on so we couldnt guess what size person was inside the clothes. She must have had a long black wig on because some of the hair was sticking out from under the layers of scarves almost like a mummy wrap hiding the her face. No one could get the bag lady to utter a sound so we had no clue who was under that costume. She joined in the fun and dancing and acted clownish and impish. Everyone was fascinated by her and couldnt wait until midnight when everyone would have to take off their masks.
At one minute before midnight, we started a count-down like they do for New Years Eve. We were down to 10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..and when we yelled ...
