As a Denver native, it’s great to reflect back on the City’s history and the tremendous progress we have made over the past several decades. Our small city moniker no longer fits our big city recognition. Denver has become a destination city with the splendor of being saddled with our breathtaking mountains and area scenery.
It took great leadership within our City’s administration and elected officials to get us here; and with our upcoming elections on May 3rd we have the opportunity to elect leaders who have the vision to continue Denver’s successful growth.
We would like to share our endorsements with our readers and hope you will see the value in electing these fine leaders.
James Mejia for Mayor
The city is facing tough economic times, education continues to search for solutions and our police department needs new direction and leadership. All of which have been addressed in the past several weeks. Knowing the answers however, is only part of the solution. Putting them in motion will take time, patience, and the ability to communicate and to reach out to all sectors and communities. We have the greatest respect for the all the candidates who have pledged themselves to run for mayor at such a difficult time in our history. After much consideration we feel the best candidate for mayor would be James Mejia. His background in extensive city management, his developments as a former school board member, his bold stand on public safety, and his vision for the future and gratitude towards Denver’s communities of color lead us to believe he is a sure fit as Denver’s next Mayor.
We believe James is best qualified to lead Denver through these difficult times and will never lose sight of the diversity this city was built on.
