Go Beyond The World Cup To Attract Sports-Minded Latino Consumers

MIAMI, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- From beer to home improvement retailers to electronics companies and wireless service providers, teaming up with a sports league, favored team or top talent has emerged as a powerful way to get a brand recognized.

In the U.S. Hispanic market, fervent, fanatical futbol lovers have been the target of many a Chief Marketing Officer, working on behalf of a brand, product or service that seeks to maximize its potential for growth.

Yet many marketers stop at the most obvious of opportunities - soccer. Some are simply unaware - or perhaps ignorant - of the additional opportunities for sales growth, activations and that all-important ROI those in the C-Suite hold as their ultimate sign of success.

"Beyond the World Cup: The Power of Hispanic Sports Fans" - the latest in a series of Hispanic Market Overview special reports produced by longtime U.S. Hispanic market journalist and market research specialist Adam R Jacobson - details some of the key ways advertisers have tapped into Latino fan passion to cultivate a group of consumers that continues to grow - and spend.

"While soccer is the unifying sport among most Latinos, baseball is a highly popular sport among those whose heritage is Dominican, Cuban, Puerto Rican or Venezuelan," Jacobson notes. "At the same time, the National Football League and National Basketball League have grown in popularity among all Hispanics, and each league has responded in the last year with major initiatives designed to increase Latino fan appeal. Sponsorship opportunities in the U.S. Hispanic market are largely untapped outside of soccer, and there is plenty of room for long-term growth."

Yet Jacobsons research found that soccer remains the main sport of choice among advertiser and is the driver of most Hispanic sports media, including the newly renamed Fox Deportes, the premier sponsor of "Beyond the World Cup: The Power of Hispanic Sports Fans."

The report is presented in a downloadable PDF format and is available free of charge, at http://www.jakeadams.net. Additionally, HispanicAd.com, the tool for the Hispanic advertising and media professional. Is the exclusive distributor in the U.S. Hispanic market of this timely and informative Hispanic Market Overview special report.

Media companies featured in this report are ESPN Deportes, Traver Hispanic Marketing Group, PM Publicidad, Univision, Telemundo, Univision, GLR Networks, and Gol TV.
